The ISIL library started functioning in the early
sixties and has over the years built-up a fairly
good collection, approximately 25,000 volumes of
books and journals. It receives more than one
hundred reputed journals of international law and
allied areas. The reference section has an
appreciable collection of material indices,
reference books, encyclopedias, dictionaries and
legal lexicons. An important feature of the library
is its collection of primary documents, e.g.
documents of the United Nations (UN), reports of the
International Court of Justice (ICJ), and
International Law Commission (ILC). The library
offers following services: circulation, reference,
inter library loan, bibliographic, press clippings,
photocopying and exchange of publications. Access to
library is available on liberal terms.
